Data Recovery

Lost your data?
Let's take a look.

First-pass data recovery for failed hard drives, SSDs, USB sticks and memory cards. Free assessment on every case, and where the recovery is straightforward, we can often save you the cost of a lab. For advanced cases, we put you in touch with a trusted UK specialist.

How we work

First-pass recovery,
lab referral when it's needed.

The first thing to do isn't to panic, it's to stop using the drive. Don't install recovery software on the affected machine. Bring it in or post it to us. We'll look at it for free and tell you honestly what's realistic.

  • Accidentally deleted files and formatted drives
  • Corrupted partitions and file systems
  • USB sticks and external HDDs (logical issues)
  • SD and CF cards from cameras and audio recorders
  • SSDs with logical failures or accidental formatting
  • Drives that won't mount or are read-only
  • Mechanical and physical failures, usually a specialist referral

How we work

Every case starts with a free assessment. If it's straightforward we recover the data here, often saving you the cost of a lab. If it needs hardware-level work, we connect you with a trusted UK-based specialist who also offers free assessments and a no-fix-no-fee guarantee.

Common Questions

Questions we get asked about this service

What are my chances of getting my data back?

It depends on the failure. We tell you straight after the free assessment. Logical issues, deleted files, formatting, corrupted partitions, are usually recoverable in our workshop. Severe mechanical or hardware failures go to a UK-based lab specialist, where chances are often still good.

Should I try recovery software first?

No. Running software on a failing drive can overwrite the data you're trying to save. Bring it in first, we'll tell you whether it's worth proceeding before you spend anything.

How confidential is my data?

We treat all recovered data as strictly confidential. We don't access your files beyond what's necessary to verify recovery success.

How long does data recovery take?

First-pass cases (logical issues, deleted files, formats) typically 1–3 working days. Cases that go to our lab partner depend on the lab's queue, usually 5–15 working days.
